Join us as we visit many of the breathtaking UK locations used in the movies including a fantastic steam train journey. You’ll spend time in J.K.Rowlings home city of Edinburgh where she brought those wonderful stories to life. It’s back to school in Oxford as you’ll visit some wonderful historical buildings used for filming Hogwarts. Enjoy the many sights of London, including platform 9¾ at King’s Cross Station. See behind the scenes at the not to be missed Warner Brothers Studio Tour, and for those that continue on our journey – experience the wizarding world for yourself with a Private VIP tour of Universal Studios in Florida!

There will be fun activities throughout, including a trivia quiz, cosplay competition, a ‘Magic Potions’ night, a medieval banquet to relive the experience of a grand Hogwart’s feast, and of course the chance to prove which is the best house as you compete throughout the tour.

Day 1 – Saturday September 5th

Edinburgh CastleToday everyone will arrive from all around the world to meet in Scotland’s thriving capital – Edinburgh. You will be given detailed instructions on how to meet up with our Geek Nation Tours representative and the rest of the tour participants at the hotel (please note that you’ll always be in constant contact with our representative).  From there you will be free to explore Edinburgh, taking in some of the sights, relaxing at a coffee shop after a day of shopping, or enjoying a pint with the locals at one of the many pubs and taverns. You will also be more than welcome to join your tour rep on an afternoon visit to Edinburgh Castle.

In the evening, you’ll get to meet everyone at the Welcome Dinner, included as part of the tour. Your tour rep will introduce and welcome everyone to the tour, and you will all be ‘sorted’ into your houses.

Day 2 – Sunday September 6th Owls!

The day will start with a guided tour of Edinburgh, taking in a series of sites where J.K. Rowling found inspiration whilst writing the series of novels, including The Elephant House where J.K. Rowling would spend time writing much of her early novels in the back room overlooking Edinburgh Castle. We’ll also be visiting the Balmoral Hotel where she finished writing ‘The Deathly Hallows’ in 2007, as well as stopping by George Heriot’s School, which was part of the inspiration for Hogwarts.

In the afternoon you’ll be heading to Dalhousie Castle Hotel, to take part in their Owl Encounter. You will get to grips with our wide variety of owls, including the Snowy Owl and Great Grey Owl, immortalised by J K Rowling in the Harry Potter books.

The evening will be yours to enjoy and explore the great City of Edinburgh.

Day 3 – Monday September 7th

Fort WilliamIn the morning we’ll be boarding a coach and heading to the highlands to enjoy some of the spectacular sights Scotland has to offer. We’ll be stopping off at the mountain resort of Glencoe, an area of outstanding beauty that was used for several different scenes in the movies. We will also be getting the opportunity to visit some more historical Scottish Castles.

Stopping off in Fort William for an overnight stay, we will enjoy a hearty evening meal (included) and take in a short walk to see one of the breathtaking lochs. Who knows, you may even see some Merpeople?

There will be the opportunity throughout the day to earn points for your house for Harry Potter themed photo opportunities and re-enacting scenes.

Day 4 – Tuesday September 8th

Glenfinnan ViaductMake sure you’ve got your school bags packed as we will be reliving the journey of the Hogwart’s Express, as we take the steam train north, crossing over the famous Glenfinnan Viaduct where the Ford Anglia flew overhead in “The Chamber of Secrets”. The train journey from Fort William to Mallaig is known as one of the Great Train Journeys of the World and is not to be missed!

You’ll have time to enjoy the port town of Mallaig along the North West coast of Scotland, before we board the coach once more, and enjoy more of the Scottish countryside on the return journey to Edinburgh.

Broomstick Training!We’ll enjoy more great food at our hotel (included), and house points will be awarded for cosplay, so bring your finest house robes. After dinner there will be a Harry Potter quiz, so make sure you’re up to speed on your Potter trivia so that you don’t let your house down.

Day 5 – Wednesday September 9th

In the morning it’ll be time to visit another famous site used in the Harry Potter movies. Alnwick Castle is one of Britain’s iconic castles. You’ll be able to explore the castle and the grounds, and we’ve even organized broomstick flying lessons with one of their resident wizard professors, on the very spot where Harry had his first flying lesson in Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone.

After we’ve all mastered the use of broomsticks, we’ll be heading back to Edinburgh. Once there, we’ll be boarding a plane for an evening flight straight to London for the next leg of the tour (unfortunately British flight regulations won’t let us journey there on broomsticks).

Day 6 – Thursday September 10th

The morning will see us boarding a coach again to visit Oxford, another city famous for it’s history and heritage.  Our guide will be bringing some movies on board and the leading house will be able to decide what is viewed…

Hogwarts?Our first stop will be the The Eagle And Child, for a spot of lunch. This tavern is famous for serving The Inklings, a group of writers including J.R.R. Tolkein, C.S. Lewis, and more.

We will be joined in the afternoon by a local professional guide for a Harry Potter focused walking tour of the area. We will go inside the medieval Hogwarts Hospital with its images of beasts and biblical scenes. Walk down the halls of Hogwarts in the dark cloisters of one of Oxford’s oldest colleges.

We’ll be returning to London, and then, after dinner, we’ll be heading out to visit some fine taverns to enjoy some weird and wonderful magic potions (cocktails).

Day 7 – Friday September 11th

Platform 9 3/4After you’ve filled up on breakfast, you’ll be organized into groups and taken on a personal Harry Potter themed tour in an iconic London black cab. From Diagon Alley to the Leaky Cauldron, nobody knows the streets of London like a cab driver. Visit platform 9 and 3/4 at King’s Cross Station where the Hogwarts Express departs. See the place where Harry and Ron stole Arthur Weasley’s flying car. Stand on the bridge that the Knight Bus crossed over in the Prisoner of Azkaban.

You will be on a morning or afternoon black cab tour. Whilst not on the tour, you are free to explore London. Alternatively, you are more than welcome to join your tour rep on a visit to London Zoo to see the reptile house, where Harry talks to a snake for the first time in The Philosopher’s Stone.

In the evening you will be free to relax and explore London. Your tour rep will be more than happy to help you with suggestions.

Day 8 – Saturday September 12th

WB Studios!Today you will be taken to the Warner Bros Studio Tour. The tour will take place adjacent to the working film studios where all eight Harry Potter films were made. The Studio Tour offers visitors the unique opportunity to explore two soundstages and a back lot filled with original sets, animatronic creatures and breathtaking special effects. You will have the whole day to take in all the wonderful sights on offer. You’ll also want to try and find all the golden snitches, and earn more glory for your house team.

There will be an evening meal (included) to celebrate the last day of the UK leg of the tour, followed by a visit to Leicester Square, where fans gathered in their masses for each of the film premieres. We’ll also be taking in a movie at the very same cinema.

Day 9 – Sunday September 13th

Brooms to Florida?Today some of us will head home with a hat full of great Harry Potter memories, some new friends and some tales to tell of your magical visit to the UK.

Those of you who haven’t had their fill of the world of Harry Potter we will be departing for sunnier climes to continue our magical journey on our four day Florida Extension. Make sure you get plenty of sleep during the flight, as you’ll want all your energy for the days ahead.



Day 10-11: Monday and Tuesday September 14th and 15th

Having enjoyed a behind the scenes look into the land and locations that inspired the Harry Potter series, you will spend two days being a part of that magical world at The Wizarding World of Harry Potter. Travel to and from Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure theme parks will be provided on both days. You’ll get to explore Hogsmeade village, visit the iconic Hogswarts castle. Board the Hogwarts Express and wander the streets of Diagon Alley. Find your wand at Ollivanders, stop by The Leaky Cauldron for lunch. Pop in to Gringott’s to check on your vault. With breathtaking rides, and an authentic experience, down to the last detail, this is the ultimate experience for all Harry Potter fans and is a great way to wind up the tour. Throughout the two days, you will be treated to an Exclusive Private VIP Guided Tour, and not only accompanied through the parks but taken to the head of the ride queues – no long lines with those silly muggles.

Universal!This will also be your opportunity to earn even more house points, so make sure you have your camera ready for some memorable photos, as your tour rep will be keen to see what you get up to.

Day 12 – Wednesday September 16th

This day is your opportunity to enjoy Orlando, Florida at your leisure. From Sea World to Legoland, Discovery Cove to Disney’s Magic Kingdom, there is plenty for you to do to finish your holiday with a bang. Of course, if you haven’t had enough of the world of Harry Potter, you can always return to Universal Studios. The day will finish with a Farewell Dinner to remember (included). You’ll enjoy a medieval banquet and take in a thrilling show of live jousting, awe-inspiring horsemanship and falconry. You will also find out which house won the most points, and prizes will be awarded.Book Now

Day 13 – Thursday September 17th

Today we will transfer to the airport and make the journey home. The photos, memories and friends you made are yours to keep forever.
